At an individual level, a professional in a pastoral role can have a profound impact on students. They can be the difference between a child attending school or not, or a family engaging with their child’s education. They can be crucial in ensuring that a child and their family get the intervention and support they need, whether at school or multi-agency level.
Our Home School Support Worker provides support, advice and information to families within the school community. We believe that we can help to empower parents and carers to find resources within themselves. Positive change will have a significant impact of the lives of their families.
St Ursula’s provide friendly, approachable and confidential support in all areas of family life including:
- Support to establish routines and boundaries
- Help to access information, and signposting, to other services in the local area. For example, career advice and employment, domestic abuse, housing or benefits
- Support for emotional well-being
- Support if you have suffered a loss or bereavement
