St Thomas’ class enjoyed a fantastic workshop today, led by Lisa from Keep Britain Tidy. The workshop taught the children how to repair a pocket microscope, with the aim of encouraging children to repair items (with adult supervision) in the future to reduce the amount of waste we produce. They were able to dismantle the microscope, assess the electrical components and choose the best lens for depth of field. After fixing the microscope, they got to test it out on various specimen slides and materials around the room! They had so much fun; St Teresa’s are very excited to take part in the workshop in April. Well done Year 5!
